The Gilded Age refers to a period in late 19th-century America, roughly from the 1870s to about 1900, marked by rapid economic growth, industrialization, and lavish displays of wealth by the upper class. The term was coined by Mark Twain and Charles Dudley Warner in their satirical novel The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today, highlighting the glittering surface of prosperity that masked deeper social problems like inequality, political corruption, and labour unrest. The word “gilded” suggests a thin layer of gold over something less valuable underneath—symbolizing opulence that concealed the hardships of the era.
This actual scrapkit came about because I started to watch The Gilded Age, a TV series on Sky which I would highly recommend watching.

There has been a bit of a confusion about my Tropical Tidings Scrapkit.
Whilst tweaking and reuploading, I unfortunately uploaded another Tropical kit in error.
If anyone downloaded this kit yesterday expecting my Christmas in July kit, you may have got the other kit instead.

As you are probably aware, I am in the stages of doing a six part kit based on one of probably my most favourite books of all time. This has also been made into films and radio productions.
Though I have never mentioned the book by name, for those have read or seen the films, you may be able to guess.
I am doing the essence of the books, so am trying not to fully go by book descriptions, but enough for it to show through my scrapkits.

The first two have already been uploaded. The third kit, may not be to some people's taste. The first kit was elven based, the second dwarf based. This third kit is for the much darker side of the tale and I have to admit to loving doing tubes for this, but for everything to make sense, this kit has to be made.
When Morning Comes, is in honour of the men in the tale. Rooted in Song is for the little folk and those characters of nature that can be found in the story.
The Last Light...I have an idea, but that is still some way to go for me to come fully to grips with.
However, I hope you will enjoy all the kits in this series.

As well as this series, I am the process of designing another series for you all. The first two kits have passed concept stage and are in the design stage.
This series will consist of 12 scrapkits. Unlike the other series, this will come out (really hopefully) one kit a month. Now 12 kits, one a month, you probably can guess what it could be.
However....
I do not try and follow the norm and however right you are on the subject matter...discard the thought, because it is not going to follow the rules.
The first kit will be out in the next couple of weeks.

Hello Everyone!
Just a quick update.
I had hoped that either today or tomorrow I would have had the latest scrapkit done and uploaded for you all. Unfortunately one of my software packages has had an update recently and since then, it has not been great.
I have now cancelled this. Good news is that I have found, I hope, an even better one, but it has put back everything because of this change around.
Also, we are in the middle of a heat wave here and I, for one, who is a total cold weather person, is not exactly a happy bunny lol.
So, I am taking the next few days off while the heat wave totally descends (though knowing me I shall still be working on designs) and I hope to be back in operation once more after the weekend.
Sorry for any disappointment, which I too feel as I was looking forward to uploading a couple of scrapkits for you all, but I would probably be melting like the Wicked Witch of the West all over my PC, if I were to continue!
Hopefully the delay will not be for too long, as I am raring to go once more.

I have had these tubes around for a while, but hadn't got around to uploading them. It's been a while since uploading tubes, so thought I would upload these for you.
Just a reminder and for those who may not be aware, I have a Facebook group where I upload bits and pieces that don't quite make it into my Scrapkits or Tubes that have no home.
They are not scrap items, but proper tubes and backgrounds. I even make some specifically for the group. It is a private group, but everyone is welcome to join. The only places you will find my items is here and at the group. I have added a couple of examples to show some of the items that have gone through the group.

I am not sure how other tag creators do their creating.
With me, an idea will come to me and I start planning and then go into the design phase. The design phase normally doesn't take too long (a few days at most). After the design phase, that is probably the longest, for me at least. Collating, tubing, naming, saving etc...this takes time for me at least, as I have to fit everything around every day life.
Unfortunately, even while in the collating stage, my mind is usually working nineteen to the dozen and I am often caught up in designing something that has popped into my head and then that kit takes over.
I have at least five scrapkits all designed and ready to start collating, plus other in the concept phase. I have several kits coming up that have become ultimate favourites with me. I have given myself a couple of months to get them all uploaded. This may be quicker (or longer) depending on life of course.
But I have learnt not to give notice of quick turnarounds as that rarely happens.
So there may be days of quiet. I am learning to not sit at my PC 24/7 and to take days out just resting and relaxing (though I actually still may be designing kits even while doing this).
So...my next kit to be uploaded (no guarantees) but will hopefully be within a few days.
This was a sudden spur of the moment kit. A, why couldn't I do this, type of kit (having done an Alice kit). The kit then turned into a, perhaps I can make a series, type of kit.
The kit (or kits) are all book based (and film if you are into films), but not so much as I would be trespassing on copyrights. Things may look like something you may recognise, but done in a creative tagger way
I have no idea if this idea has been done before, but it would have been something I would have bought straight off. Now I can do my own kits, I am taking that massive leap into a book world I love.
